Spider Rockets

Spider Rockets

Spider Rockets is a rock group from northern (or can we say central?) New Jersey. The group has toured with national heavyweights like TRAPT, Puddle of Mudd and many others. Leftfield had worked with the group for a handful of years and when it was time to produce a video for "Going Down" from the group's latest release, we develed the treatment, and took an active roll directing and co-editing.

Leftfield would go on to help promote the track and found a home with the WWE where it was adopted by Charlotte (Flair), daughter of famed wrestling personality, Ric Flair. Charlotte used the Spider Rockets single for the entire 2014 season as both her walk-out theme and her victory anthem. This move was instrumental in garnering the group nearly 250K views on YouTube and raising the band's overall visibility.

Leftfield developed the storyline, produced and directed the video for one of the group's later singles, "Rip Your Heart Out." The plot of the music video would have shot production costs by tens of thousands beyond our budget. We therefore decided to take the animation (or, more precisely, anime) route. We hired various teams from the far east in character development, storyboarding and animation, and took our time in order to get it just right... nearly 8 months in fact.

The final result was better than anyone could have predicted and would go on to win 6 international film festivals.

- Prague International Film Awards
- Red Wood Film Festival
- Varese International Film Festival
- Short Cine Fest
- Couch Film Festival
- Virtual View International Film Challenge

The music video also swept the video and animation category, including Judge's Choice and Best of Motion, at the 2022 Local Chapter of the American Advertising Federation's ADDY Awards.
